DCUO: Solo League Hall Part 2
Redid this after the Summer seasonal event. I needed to get a bunch of items there to really complete it...

DCUO: Summer / Ice Cave
I expanded an ice themed base I was building, ironically using the new Summer items. Since the event is based around Aquaman, the items had an Atlantean theme. So they were mostly blue and matched perfectly with ice as I was collecting blue & white items. Even though Summer is supposed to be hot, I used the event items to build a cold base!

Tiamat's "O"
Here's my contribution to Jeff's question. This is a short video of my DC Universe Online supervillain, Tiamat, casting Circle of Protection in the night sky of South Gotham. I then angled the camera so that it would form a high contrast "O."
The ability is actually called Circle of Destiny. In DPS stance, it becomes Circle of Destruction, causing damage over time for enemies inside the runes. In healer stance (as seen above), it's Circle of Protection, healing allies over time. As DPS, I'll usually cast this immediately at the beginning of the battle and clip it with 2 more attacks. As a healer, I wait a few seconds so that I'm not healing full health teammates.

Auntie Day & Uncle Hal's House
Last year, Auntie Day and Uncle Hal moved from Long Island to Rhinebeck... just before one of our big floods. Over the past year, they fixed up the house and got everything setup. We made it up there this weekend for the first time.
The house itself might be a little smaller, but it seems like it has a lot more usable space. Auntie Day's antiques are all setup nicely with enough room to step back and get a good view.

The Teeth of Naros
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning came out in February and already had 2 DLCs. Just a couple of weeks ago, they released a 3rd called The Teeth of Naros (ToN). So they've been doing a good job of keeping their new fans entertained. I worked from a previous save actually... the one before I completed the game. I heard that there were new blacksmithing materials to make more powerful weapons, so I wanted to play through the DLC before winning the game. So there will be a "Crystal Wars Reloaded" post sometime in the future!
The Teeth of Naros is a location South of the main map and it's a hidden land of giants called Kollossae. The theme is very much Greco-Roman as the Kollossae are into philosophy, theatre and warfare. Their appearance is even based on the classical statues. The garb they wear is colored in bright primaries like the Greek statues of the real world were once painted. ToN claimed to be a 20-hour adventure. The previous DLC, Legend of Dead Kel was advertised as 10-hour, but I felt like ToN was shorter for some reason.
I was more into the new weapons and armor of course. The DLC featured 9 new armor sets (3 for warriors, 3 for rogues and 3 for wizards). They also added 2 weapons of each type and a bunch of magic rings. Then there's a new material called "primal," which unleashes a special magic that overrides opponents' resistance to elemental attacks. It's a ton of more powerful stuff to use on the main quest when the time comes!

1st Snow of 2012
We made it through December and most of January without snow, but finally got some today. I actually thought the forecast would be wrong and it would end up being slushy rain, so I was a little surprised to wake up to this. It's below freezing and not rain, so the snow came out light and fluffy. It's supposed to continue throughout the afternoon and accumulate to 5 inches, which means it'll be a little higher in Queens.

MoMA II
After lunch, we went to Starbucks and ended up talking about MoMA. Since neither of us had plans, we headed out there. For a regular weekday, the museum was more crowded than I had ever seen. It took us forever to get tickets even though I was able to get us on the members' line. Then the bag check took even longer. But it was nice to go there again even though the Talk to Me exhibit is gone.
Note: Photos from today were added to the end of the album I started in September.
It was a good thing we went too because I just learned that my Wiley benefit to MoMA will be cut slightly for 2012. This year, I can get myself + 2 guests in for free. Next year, I can only get myself in, but up to guests at $5 per person.

(fluff)Art Through the Ages
(fluff)Friends is being abandoned after 4.5 years. The game will still run, but it will not be maintained or updated. This usually means a gradual death, so I quickly saved out all of my (fluff)arts or "habis" as we call them in the game. I installed the game way back in 2007, but didn't save out any art until 2008. Check out the graphics below for parodies of life, art movement and movie reenactments!

Giant Bee
All sorts of things like to find their way under my car cover as I have it wrapped up for the week. There was a huge dead bug today. When I first saw it, I thought it was a cicada based on the size (almost 2"). Then I went closer and discovered it was a giant bee.
Check out the size of the stinger...

Highline Preview
For Ifore's last night in New York, we went out to the Highline. It was a place I've been meaning to go to. I met up with Ifore, Jiselle and Emily after work, so it was still bright outside ans we had the dusk lighting as we walked across the tracks from 14th St. to 20th St. There were a lot of people there, but I was still able to get all the shots I wanted without interference.
I titled this post "Preview" because I forgot to bring my real camera with me. All of these shots are with my HTC Incredible smartphone. I'll have to go back later this Summer with my Canon G10.
